Star! presents a new reality series that makeup addicts, beauty junkies, and fans of the TOP MODEL franchise are sure to be drawn to! BLUSH: THE SEARCH FOR THE NEXT GREAT MAKEUP ARTIST makes its Canadian premiere Saturday, January 10, 2009 at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT exclusively on Star! – Canada’s Entertainment Channel. Nine makeup artists compete for a grand prize of $100,000, a beauty contract with international cosmetics giant Max Factor, and a one-time gig on an In Style® photo shoot. The six-part cosmetic challenge, hosted by Vanessa Marcil (GENERAL HOSPITAL, LAS VEGAS), follows contestants as they are put to the test with weekly challenges designed to assess the skills necessary to succeed in the industry.
With models as their canvas, creativity and fantasy are put to the test as contestants create the most avant-garde looks during their challenges. Each week, one contestant is eliminated until “The Next Great Makeup Artist” is left standing. BLUSH challenges are judged by a panel of beauty and style experts, including celebrity makeup artist Joanna Schlip (Eva Longoria, Scarlett Johansson) and In Style® fashion director Hal Rubenstein. Renowned makeup artist Charlie Green (Angelina Jolie, Naomi Campbell) acts as mentor to the competitors. Guest stars include Australian singing sensation Dannii Minogue, photographer Djak Azron, and celebrity wedding planner Jo Gartin. Contestants best be wearing waterproof mascara, because the competition is stiff.

Maxi
Known simply as “Maxi”, this Los Angeles–based makeup artist is notorious for his outrageous behavior. Working primarily on music videos, Maxi’s impressive list of celebrity clients includes Paris Hilton, Christina Aguilera, David Stewart, and Dave Navarro.
Myke Michaels
Myke, a single father, has been a makeup artist for more than 20 years with two Emmy Award® nominations for “Outstanding Makeup” to his name. Myke has worked on more than 300 film and television projects including MAD TV, Rush Hour, and Tom Cruise’s latest flick Valkyrie.
Nolan Makaawaawa
Nolan has been a professional makeup artist for the past 10 years. Unfailingly open, charismatic, and full of life, Nolan values the three M’s in his life: his mother, his man, and Madonna.
Sharzad Kiadeh
After working for many years at the counters of Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, and MAC of Beverly Hills, Sharzad hopes to revolutionize the makeup world by creating a line of environmentally friendly cosmetics.
Maura “Mo” Lewitts
Having attended two prestigious makeup schools and worked on numerous celebrities including Sarah Ferguson, Maura, a.k.a “Mo”, believes her outgoing, perky personality sets her apart from other makeup artists.
Farah Carter
Farah believes the only rule that should be strictly followed when it comes to makeup is that…there should be no rules.
Jessica Millington
Jessica wants to prove to the world that being a mother of two won’t keep her from pursuing a dream in the beauty industry.
Rainell Chivonne
Rainell is a freelance makeup artist whose mission is to glamorize the women of the world with her alter ego “The Glamazon”.
Todd Homme
