| HBO Canada's November Highlights |

HBO Canada is a multiplex channel that will be available to subscribers of Movie Central (Western Canada) and The Movie Network (Eastern Canada) beginning Thursday, October 30, 2008. HBO Canada will deliver Canadians a full slate of signature dramatic programs that HBO is known for together with new and never-before-seen programming including comedy series, live specials, sporting events, behind-the-scenes content and titles from HBO’s extensive library – all in an uncut and commercial-free environment, in standard definition, high definition and on demand.
REAL TIME WITH BILL MAHER (CANADIAN PREMIERE; SEASON 6)
Premieres Friday, October 31 at 11 p.m.
Making his long-awaited debut in Canada, HBO’s irrepressible, politically incorrect muse, Bill Maher takes on the contenders and pretenders in the 2008 U.S. election year in the latest season of his HBO original series. Offering a unique perspective on contemporary issues, each live edition of the series includes an opening monologue, roundtable discussions with panelists, and interviews with in-studio and satellite guests. Real Time With Bill Maher will begin airing live on HBO Canada day-and-date with HBO in the U.S. so Canadian viewers can see the most current episodes and be fully up-to-date with Maher’s slant on the U.S. election. New episodes will continue to air Friday nights at 11 p.m. until November 14, with the next season scheduled to premiere in January 2009.
**All of the current season six episodes from Real Time With Bill Maher will air during marathons on Saturday, November 1 & Sunday, November 2 and will be available On Demand the following week
CHRIS ROCK: KILL THE MESSENGER (CANADIAN PREMIERE; COMEDY SPECIAL)
Premieres Saturday, November 1 at 10 p.m.
World-class comedian Chris Rock hits the stage on HBO Canada with his all-new 90-minute stand-up comedy special. Featuring footage from three individual performances during his recent world tour – at South Africa’s Carnival City Casino, New York’s legendary Apollo Theatre, and the Carling Apollo Hammersmith in London – this special will feature Rock’s unique, adults-only take on social, political and celebrity issues.
DOWN AND DIRTY WITH JIM NORTON (CANADIAN PREMIERE; COMEDY SPECIAL)
Premieres Sunday, November 9 at 10 p.m.
Taped at New Jersey's Bergen Performing Arts Centre, outrageous comedy star Jim Norton stars in this four-part comedy showcase featuring established and up-and-coming comics, such as Artie Lang (The Howard Stern Show Radio Show, Dirty Work) and Andrew Dice Clay.
SUMMER HEIGHTS HIGH (NORTH AMERICAN PREMIERE; NEW SERIES)
Premieres Sunday, November 9 at 10:30 p.m.
Making its North American debut, this hit half-hour Australian mockumentary series from creator and star Chris Lilley (We Can Be Heroes) focuses on the parody of high school life through two students – the self-centred Ja’mie King and the unruly and offensive Jonah Takalua – as well as their eccentric bachelor drama teacher Mr. G. Also starring Danny Alsabbagh and Elida Brereton.
DIRTY DRIVING: THUNDER CARS OF INDIANA (WORLD PREMIERE; ORIGINAL DOCUMENTARY)
Premieres Monday, November 17 at 8 p.m.
Directed by Jon Alpert (Alive Day Memories: Home from Iraq), this documentary paints a portrait of the decline of rust-belt America, where high-speed racing is an all-consuming obsession. Since the closing of a General Motors plant and the loss of 33,000 jobs, the once-thriving town of Anderson, Ind., now stands witness to empty factories and shuttered stores. But every Friday night, the people who remain in the city gather at Anderson Speedway to watch NASCAR fender-rubbing, bumper-bumping, tire-trashing at its rawest.

Gabriel Byrne stars as Paul, a psychotherapist who exhibits an insightful and reserved demeanour while treating his patients, but secretly has his own set of painstaking problems in this 43-episode, half-hour series. Each episode is dedicated to one of Paul’s four patients, and the fifth episode features Paul as he seeks counsel from his therapist for his own crippling insecurity and anger. In Treatment is based on a hit Israeli series and is executive produced by Mark Whalberg and also stars Dianne Wiest, Blair Underwood and Melissa George.
OZ (NETWORK PREMIERE; ORIGINAL SERIES)
Season One Begins Monday, November 3 at 11 p.m.
In the "Emerald City" experimental unit of Oswald State Penitentiary, we meet some of the diverse inmates who live within a pecking order of homeboys, Latinos, Muslims, Irish, Aryans, and wiseguys. This series follows a range of socially and racially diverse inmates and the attempts made to promote rehabilitation and learning responsibility during their incarceration. Subsequent episodes will air Monday to Thursday at 11 p.m. Starring Terry Kinney, Ernie Hudson, Chris Meloni, Rita Moreno, Lee Tergeson and Lauren Velez.
JOHN ADAMS (ENCORE PRESENTATION; ORIGINAL MINISERIES)

Recently the winner of 13 Emmy® Awards, John Adams is a seven-part miniseries based on the award-winning biography by David McCullough, chronicling the life of the second president of the United States of America, his role in the American Revolution, and his continued hand in shaping the early life of the republic. John Adams is executive produced by Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman and stars Paul Giamatti, Laura Linney, Stephen Dillane, David Morse and Sarah Polley.
GIA (NETWORK PREMIERE; ORIGINAL FILM)
Premieres Friday, November 7 at 8 p.m.
Exploring the dramatic climb to fame and tumultuous life of international supermodel Gia Carangi, this biographical drama is a cautionary tale of self-love, self-image and self-destruction. Set against the backdrop of the glamorous world of international fashion in the late ‘70s, the film traces Gia’s meteoric rise and fall as a highly sought-after model, capturing her life, her loves, her obsessions, her addictions, and, eventually, her death of AIDS at age 26. Starring Angelina Jolie, Mercedes Reuhl and Faye Dunaway.
HBO CANADA COMMEMORATES THE U.S. ELECTION

HBO Canada celebrates one of the most exciting and talked-about U.S. Presidential elections in recent history with politically-themed programming on November 4, including Recount, the original film starring Kevin Spacey depicting the controversial Florida recount that decided the outcome of the 2000 election; the documentaries Thank You Mr. President: Helen Thomas At The White House and Run, Granny, Run; the two latest episodes of Real Time With Bill Maher, and the HBO original film Iron Jawed Angels starring Hilary Swank that chronicles the history behind a woman’s right to vote.
