GolTV Announces Kingston and Saskatoon As First Two Future Footballers Clinics
Posted on Tuesday, September 30, 2008 - 03:18 PM
Gol TV Canada

GolTV, Canada’s 24-hour soccer network, and Insight Sports announced today that the first two Future Footballers Clinics for 2008-09 will be Kingston, Ontario, and Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

Future Footballers is a national grassroots soccer training and development program featuring some of Canada's most recognizable soccer talent, including GolTV's lead analyst, Paul James, International women’s star Christine Sinclair, and National team and Toronto FC captain, Jim Brennan, as instructors. The debut event will take place in Kingston at the Quarry Sportsplex on November 28-29, 2008, and then the Sasktel Sports Centre in Saskatoon on December 5-6, 2008.

“It is our goal to work with more than 100 young players in each city we visit, and help to develop their skills and understanding of the game,” says lead instructor Paul James. “We are really excited to be able to work with these ‘Future Footballers’ right across Canada, to visit two wonderful locations and the tremendous facilities there."

“The Kingston soccer community is buzzing with the news that this program is launching in our city on November 28, 2008, with these famous Canadian soccer personalities visiting the Quarry Sportsplex,” says Krista Swackhammer, President of The Quarry. “Our young players will not only benefit from the instruction, but will remember this experience for a long time.”

“Our nationally recognized centre which opened in 2006, is delighted to stage this developmental session for young players from all across Saskatchewan, and we look forward to welcoming these leaders to Saskatoon in December,” says John Riggs, President of Saskatoon Soccer Centre Inc. “This will be a unique experience for our players to interact with three Canadians who have achieved so much in their careers.”

For further information as to how to enrol in the Kingston clinic, please contact the Quarry Sportsplex at (613) 549-5795.

In Saskatoon, please contact the Sasktel Sports Centre at (306) 975-3400.
