Fringe audiences continue to be out of this world. Coming off a #1 super-simulcast debut, last Tuesday, J.J. Abrams’ must-see thriller delivered 819,000 viewers last night, peaking at 905,000 viewers. The second, gripping episode of this fall’s most-watched new series triumphed over 90210 (Global; 790,000) in its time-slot and won the 9 p.m. hour in Toronto and Vancouver. Among A25-54 and A18-49, Fringe was the #2 program of the night behind House in Toronto and Vancouver.*

Also to note:

· Nationally, Fringe also bested 90210 among A25-54 (553,000 to 487,000) and equaled 90210 among A18-49 (546,000 to 547,000).

· Compared to last week’s series premiere, Fringe boasted double-digit growth with A2+ (45%), A25-54 (64%), and A18-49 (79%) and more than doubled its A18-34 audience.

· Fringe delivered more viewers than 90210 in Toronto and Vancouver among total viewers, A25-54 and A18-49.

· At 9 p.m., the one-two punch of Without a Trace (#1; 872,000) on CTV and Fringe (#2; 819,000) on ‘A’ relegated 90210 (790,000) to #3 in the time period.

In the United States, Fringe delivered 13.3 million viewers, a 45% increase over it series premiere.

The spooky sci-fi storylines continue next week on Fringe (Tuesday, Sept. 23 at 8 p.m. ET) with “The Ghost Network,” which finds Dr. Bishop, Olivia and Peter investigating a horrific bus incident in which the dead bodies of commuters are frozen inside a bus like insects in amber. Led by the unconventional Dr. Bishop, who requests a piano in the lab to help him process data, the team uncovers a man who has visions of disturbances before they happen, and race to decipher the distraught man’s thoughts to prevent another atrocious event from occurring.

Fringe can be seen on demand on the CTV Video Player at CTV.ca.

*(In Vancouver, Fringe tied with Law and Order SVU among A18-49, each with a 6.7 rating).
