APTN Gets Ready For Fall

Aboriginal Peoples Television Network (APTN) is pleased to announce the launch of its new fall 2008 line-up. This fall¹s highlights include a new one-hour news program, the world premieres of two new reality television series, new entertainment series, new seasons of some fan favourites, more commercial-free kids programming, blockbuster movies, documentaries and new programming on APTN¹s high-definition station, APTN HD.

APTN¹s new entertainment series include the world premieres of Tribal Treks, a reality TV series with an Aboriginal twist, La Cité where Aboriginal culture meets Montreal and By the Rapids, an animated comedy with an edge, produced by the creators of the hit series Moccasin Flats.

Two of APTN¹s best-loved shows return for new seasons this fall. The comedy Mixed Blessings, continues with more stories from the family APTN viewers love, the Ukrainian Hank, his Cree wife Josie and their kids. And APTN¹s hit mystery series Rabbit Fall leaps forward with its second season as police officer Tara Wheaton uncovers the secrets that lurk beneath the surface in a small northern town.

APTN¹s news programming is expanding to an all-new, hour-long evening edition of APTN National News, hosted by Holly Bernier and Todd Lamirande, with even more in-depth information about the issues facing Aboriginal communities locally, nationally and internationally. APTN Contact returns Oct. 1 for a new season with host Cheryl McKenzie.

Kids will enjoy great new commercial-free programming this fall on APTN with another season of Wapos Bay and the APTN premieres of The Pingu Show, The Adventures of Dudley the Dragon / Les Adventures d¹Arthur le dragon and the French-language animated series Bizou.

All of APTN¹s news programs and many of APTN¹s most popular shows, including Rabbit Fall and Mixed Blessings, will be available in high-definition on APTN HD.

Finally, APTN is pleased to present the 2008 National Aboriginal People¹s Choice Awards, broadcast live from the MTS Centre in Winnipeg Manitoba, Nov. 7, 2008 on APTN and APTN HD.

La Cité is a 13-episode documentary series that follows the paths of eight
Aboriginal people living in Montreal, including a hip-hop singer, a nurse,

An animated comedy with attitude, this series takes a satirical look at what
happens when a thoroughly urban teenager tries to integrate in to the small

The Adventures of Dudley the Dragon - APTN Premiere ­ Launches Sept. 9, 2008

Dudley the dragon woke up from a 100-year old slumber and is learning about
the world from his two 10-year old friends, Sally and Matt. Join Dudley, the
friendly eight-foot green dragon and his two friends in this environmentally
aware, fun-filled series. It¹s a combination of live action and puppetry,
along with stories and songs about contemporary issues that are important to
children.

This is Turtle Island is an amazing new television series for kids that uses
exhilarating wilderness adventures to celebrate Mother Earth and motivate
children and their parents to join in the effort to nurture our fragile
planet.

urban Aboriginal communities and hopes to stimulate positive change through
discussion and education.

The Mix ­ New season - Launches: February, 2009
A lively and inspired half-hour of performance and well-paced, informative
background rooted in Métis tradition, The Mix will also explore the new
frontiers that our musical artists are reaching for. Most First Nations
performers are of mixed ancestry and that mix inspires their expression and
their performance. From traditional fiddle and dance, through jazz and
opera, and on into hip-hop and the frontiers of performance art, The Mix is
there.

Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Awards
The third annual Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Awards be broadcast live on
APTN and APTN HD from the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba on Friday,
November 7 and will feature performances by the best Aboriginal recording
artists across North America.


Note on broadcast times:
APTN is broadcasting on three feeds, an Eastern, a Western and a Northern
feed. Starting in September 2008, the Eastern feed will go from Newfoundland
to Ontario and the schedule will be based on Eastern Standard Time. The
Western feed will go from Manitoba to B.C and will be based on Mountain
Standard Time (with the exception of SHAW customers in the west who will
receive the EAST signal). The Northern feed will be based on Central
Standard Time.

APTN¹s high-definition station, APTN HD, is broadcast over a single feed and
will be based on Eastern time.

APTN¹s LIVE programming (such as APTN¹s national call-in news show, APTN
Contact), will be broadcast without a time delay ­ for example, a live
program airing at 6 pm Mountain time will be seen live at 5 pm local time in
BC and 8 pm local time in Toronto.
