| SportsNet Announces its Edmonton Oilers Broadcast Schedule |

Sportsnet West has the new faces in Oil Country covered with 47-games in 2008-2009.
Bell Oilers Hockey on Sportsnet West opens the ’08-’09 regular season at Rexall Place on Sunday, October 12 at 6 p.m. MT as the new-look Edmonton Oilers host the Colorado Avalanche.
Sportsnet West’s Oilers broadcast schedule features more games than any other channel including 47-regular season match-ups with selected games airing in high-definition, and a pre-season edition of the Battle of Alberta on Tuesday, September 30 at 7 p.m. MT when the Copper and Blue host the Calgary Flames.
Notable games on the Bell Oilers Hockey broadcast schedule are:
Northwest Rivals – The Oilers will play 10-games against division rivals including the Minnesota Wild (4), Vancouver Canucks (3), Colorado Avalanche (2) and the Calgary Flames (1).
Star Power – Sidney Crosby and his Pittsburgh Penguins host the Oilers on Thursday, November 6 at 5 p.m. MT while Joe Thornton’s San Jose Sharks make a pair of visits to Rexall Place on Friday, January 9 at 7 p.m. MT and Thursday, April 2 at 7:30 p.m. MT.
Canadian Neighbours – The Eastern Conference’s Canadian contingent makes three appearances on Sportsnet West Oilers Hockey in 2008-2009. The Toronto Maple Leafs visit Rexall Place on Thursday, November 13 at 7 p.m. MT while Edmonton travels to Ottawa to face the Senators on Thursday, March 5 at 5:30 p.m. MT. Finally, on Tuesday, March 10 at 5:30 p.m. MT, the Oilers visit the Bell Centre in Montreal to take on the Canadiens.
Battle of Alberta – The regular season edition of the Battle of Alberta will have playoff implications on Friday, April 10 at 7 p.m. MT on Sportsnet West when the Oil welcome the Flames to Rexall Place in the second-last game of the season.
