Rogers Sportsnet has reached a long-term regional broadcast rights renewal with the Ottawa Senators, under which Sportsnet will televise 40 Senators games this season.
In this, the 10th consecutive season of Senators broadcasts on Rogers Sportsnet, Sens fans will be able to access expanded coverage, now available in Peterborough and Northern Ontario.
“We are pleased to be the number one broadcaster of the Senators - with more telecasts of the team than any other channel,” said Doug Beeforth, president, Rogers Sportsnet. “This agreement once again emphasizes our commitment to Senators fans and the 'Hockey That Matters' to them.”
“We are ecstatic about having 40 games on Rogers Sportsnet,” said Roy Mlakar, President and CEO, Ottawa Senators. “In previous years, 20 Senators games were carried on the "A-Channel" and 20 games on Sportsnet.
"Sportsnet has great penetration with our expanded carriage in Peterborough and Northern Ontario. Plus having our games carried in Western Quebec through Atlantic Canada certainly expands our brand and continues to develop more Sens fans. It has been a privilege being carried by Sportsnet since their inception and having double the coverage is great news for Senators viewers for sure."
Sportsnet broadcasts more regular-season hockey games than any other broadcaster in Canada, featuring Canadian teams in their home markets, The Hockey That Matters. Sportsnet will release its Senators regular season schedule in the upcoming weeks.
