– After five and a half seasons, Corner Gas will film its 100th episode Wednesday.
“100 of anything seems like a lot to me,” said creator Brent Butt. “I tried doing 100 sits ups once and got to about eight or nine and quit. So 100 episodes of a TV show – we’re really proud of that.”
Cast and crew of Corner Gas will celebrate this accomplishment on Wednesday, July 23 at 1:20 p.m. at the Canada-Saskatchewan Production Studios in Regina, Saskatchewan.
Executive producers Brent Butt, Virginia Thompson and David Storey will deliver a few words in recognition of this milestone. Corner Gas will wrap its sixth and final season in September, with a total of 107 half-hour episodes under its belt.
Corner Gas stars Brent Butt as Brent Leroy; Eric Peterson and Janet Wright as Oscar and Emma Leroy; Gabrielle Miller as coffee shop owner Lacey Burrows; Fred Ewanuick as best friend Hank Yarbo; Lorne Cardinal and Tara Spencer-Nairn as police officers Davis Quinton and Karen Pelly; and Nancy Robertson as retail assistant Wanda Dollard.
Butt leads a six person writing team which includes Supervising Producer Kevin White (This Hour Has 22 Minutes) along with Mark Farrell (This Hour Has 22 Minutes, Made In Canada) as producer/writer; Emmy winner Norm Hiscock (Saturday Night Live, King Of The Hill, Kids In The Hall) as consulting producer/writer; Andrew Carr (Comics) as story editor/writer; and Dylan Wertz as story editor/writer.
Corner Gas is produced in association with CTV by Prairie Pants Productions, comprised of Virginia Thompson (Incredible Story Studio, renegadepress.com) of Vérité Films and 335 Productions, a partnership of Brent Butt and David Storey (Blackfly, The Seán Cullen Show).
