Posted on Friday, June 13, 2008 - 04:59 AM
Bravo!

The Bravo!FACT (Foundation to Assist Canadian Talent)-funded short Paradise, directed by Cannes darling Jesse Rosensweet, kicks off the 14th Worldwide Short Film Festival (WSFF), June 10-15 in Toronto, ON. Bravo!FACT is proud to have funded 12 other animation, dance, and drama shorts appearing in this year’s WSFF. This is a record year for Bravo!FACT – the baker’s dozen marks the largest number of Bravo!FACT-funded shorts featured at WSFF in a single year. Bravo! celebrates WSFF with a special episode of Bravo!FACT Presents featuring three of the shorts, along with directorial interviews, on Friday, June 13 at 7:30 p.m. ET.

In addition to the stop-motion short Paradise, WSFF features three other animated Bravo!FACT-funded shorts: Dominique Keller’s Aboriginality; Billie Mintz’s The Long Journey Home; and Randall Okita’s Machine with Wishbone.

Bravo!FACT’s dance shorts at WSFF include: François Bégin’s Roastbeef staring choreographer/performer Louise Lecavalier of La La La Human Steps; Geoffrey Pugen’s Fictional Dance Party; Kathi Prosser’s To Fly or Fall; and Joe Cobden and Benjamin Steiger-Levine’s Sigh.

The Bravo!FACT-funded dramas featured include: Sara St-Onge’s Sundance hit The Funeral; Connie Diletti’s Homecoming; Mark Sanders’ Boyfriend Latte; Simon Ennis’ The Canadian Shield; and Mark Montefiore’s Back in ’93.
