The Wait Is Over - Battlestar Galactica returns to SPACE April 4

Battlestar Galactica is back! The fourth, and final season of the award-winning sci-fi drama, which Time Magazine and Newsday has dubbed the “Best Show on Television,” returns Friday, April 4 at 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT., exclusively on SPACE. The destination for all things Battlestar Galactica, SPACE features exclusive content each week in March on HypaSPACE and premieres two new Battlestar specials March 28.

Battlestar Galactica’s gritty realism, issues-driven topicality, and command performances have garnered it much adulation. The Washington Post claims it is “one of the best science fiction shows ever created” while TV Guide named it “one of TV’s sexiest and most entertaining series.” Battlestar can also be credited with creating many notable pop culture references, including the word ‘frak.’ Frak was used in TV series Veronica Mars, Gilmore Girls, Robot Chicken and The O.C as an homage to the series and its creators.

Season 4 follows the last remnants of humanity as they continue their search for the fabled refuge Earth. In the season premiere, suspicions arise around Starbuck’s mysterious return, while four members of the fleet continue to reel with the revelation that they are Cylons. The first 10 episodes of Season 4 premiere on SPACE this spring, with 10 more to follow. Premiere date for the second set of episodes is yet to be determined.

SPACE’S weekly entertainment news program HypaSPACE counts down to Galactica’s premiere with exclusive content each week in March. HypaSPACE will air on-set interviews and take an in-depth look at key characters and storylines, Saturdays at 5:30 p.m. ET / 2:30 p.m. PT. Encore presentations of HypaSPACE can be seen Sundays at 4:30 p.m. ET / 1:30 p.m. PT or on demand at www.spacecast.com.

To round out the countdown, SPACE premieres two exclusive half-hour specials: Battlestar Galactica: Revealed and Battlestar Galactica: The Phenomenon beginning March 28 at 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT. Battlestar Galactica: Revealed features interviews with executive producers Ronald D. Moore and David Eick, who serve up essential information on the spine-tingling drama, including a recap on characters and relationships. Battlestar Galactica: The Phenomenon is a celebration of the show’s impact on pop culture. Actor Seth Green, country music star Brad Paisley, and Talk Soup’s Joel McHale share why Battlestar Galactica is one of the best frakkin’ shows on television.

Season Three of Battlestar Galactica was SPACE’s highest rated program in the 2006-2007 broadcast year.*

The series has been honoured with numerous awards, including an Emmy Award® and the prestigious George Foster Peabody Award®. As well, Battlestar Galactica was recognized by the American Film Institute (AFI) as one of the most outstanding programs of the year in 2005 and 2006. The series is executive produced by Ronald D. Moore (Carnivàle) and David Eick (Bionic Woman). The outstanding ensemble cast is led by Edward James Olmos (Miami Vice, Blade Runner), Mary McDonnell (Dances With Wolves), Katee Sackhoff (Bionic Woman), Jamie Bamber (Band of Brothers), James Callis (Bridget Jones’s Diary) and Canadian actors Tricia Helfer (Canada’s Next Top Model), Grace Park (Edgemont) and Michael Hogan (Cold Squad).
