CBC

The much-anticipated debut of CBC Television’s THE WEEK THE WOMEN WENT on Monday evening attracted 770,000 viewers and peaked at more than one million. On Sunday night, the network’s third instalment of TEST THE NATION drew 858,000 for its live broadcast that challenged Canadians’ knowledge of the new millennium.

“We are thrilled,” said Kirstine Layfield, CBC executive director of network programming. “With all the buzz we knew we had a hit with THE WEEK THE WOMEN WENT, the viewers’ response just confirms that more Canadians are watching CBC’s factual programming than ever before.”

Viewers who missed episode one can watch the show and subsequent episodes online at www.cbc.ca/thewomenwent.
