NHL Network Goes Behind the Scenes for Exclusive Coverage at All-Star Festivities

L Network heads to Philips Arena in Atlanta – site of the 2008 NHL All-Star Game – from January 25 to 27, for 6 ½ hours of behind-the-scenes coverage of the NHL’s biggest stars.

An original NHL Network production, the live and exclusive coverage, which airs over three days, will be anchored by Brian Duff and Gary Green and includes behind-the-scenes interviews with players and coaches, coverage of game practices, red carpet player arrivals, and a pre-game show from inside the Eastern and Western Conference All-Stars’ dressing rooms prior to the start of the 2008 NHL All-Star Game.

TSN will also have comprehensive All-Star Game coverage on SportsCentre beginning Friday (Jan. 25) with James Duthie hosting from Atlanta alongside Hockey Insider Darren Dreger and NHL on TSN analysts Pierre McGuire and Mike Milbury. TSN’s Ryan Rishaug will also be filing daily reports from Philips Arena.

NHL Network’s broadcast schedule and show descriptions are as follows:

Friday, Jan. 25
· 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. ET – All-Star Special: Coaches’ Round Table

Saturday, Jan. 26
· 9:30 a.m. to 12 noon ET – All-Star Special: Meet the Players
· 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. ET – All-Star Special: All-Star Entertainment
· 10 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. ET – NHL On The Fly: Final – All-Star Edition #1

Sunday, Jan. 27
· 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. ET – All Star Special: Pre-Game Show
· 10 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. ET – NHL On The Fly: Final – All-Star Edition #2

All-Star Special: Coaches’ Round Table – Gary Green talks with Eastern Conference All-Star coach John Paddock (Ottawa Senators) and Western Conference All-Star coach Mike Babcock (Detroit Red Wings) as they recap the current NHL season and take questions from media. NHL Network’s Brian Duff and MSG analyst Joe Micheletti will also be on hand to go over this year’s selections to the NHL YoungStars team.

All-Star Special: Meet the Players – Duff, Green, Micheletti and Phoenix Coyotes commentator Dave Strader go behind-the-scenes at the NHL All-Star Game practice and media day, featuring live interviews with members of the Eastern Conference and Western Conference All-Star teams.

All-Star Special: All-Star Entertainment – Duff, Green and Micheletti go black-tie, conducting candid interviews with the All-Stars and YoungStars live from the red carpet, as players arrive at Philips Arena. Duff also sits down with some special NHL guests and takes a look back at the history of professional hockey in Georgia, starting with the Atlanta Flames, which relocated to Calgary in 1980.

All-Star Special: Pre-Game Show – Duff, Green and Micheletti are live from inside the Eastern and Western Conference dressing rooms, conducting exclusive, behind-the-scenes interviews with players as they prepare for the All-Star Game.

NHL On The Fly: Final – All-Star Edition #1 – Host Todd Lewis takes a look at the All-Star festivities of the day, including highlights from the SuperSkills Competiiton and YoungStars Game.

NHL On The Fly: Final – All-Star Edition #2 – Lewis provides a final look at the weekend festivities, including highlights and recaps from the All-Star Game.
