After 10 weeks of head-to-head competition, the winner of the inaugural season of Project Runway Canada will be crowned on Monday, December 17 at 9pm ET/PT in a dramatic two-hour finale special only on Slice™. Hosted by international fashion icon and legendary supermodel Iman, Project Runway Canada began with 12 talented and hungry fashion designers from across the country vying for a chance to break into the notoriously exclusive fashion industry. Faced with demanding tasks and the daily grind of living together, the designers’ wits, character, and creativity were put to the test until only three hopefuls remained.

“The group of designers introduced on Project Runway Canada has captured Canada’s attention with their immense talent and captivating personalities”, says Vanessa Case, Vice President, Content, Slice™. “We are looking forward to presenting the spectacular collections the finalists have been working on over the past couple of months and are as excited as our viewers to find out who will be crowned king or queen of the runway!”

“The final episode of Project Runway Canada will blow the roof off our audience’s houses! If you thought you saw the best of the drama, tears and fur flying – just wait! And there is no way anyone will be able to predict the very shocking conclusion to this series,” says Andrea Webb, Supervising Producer of Project Runway Canada, Insight Productions.

During the two-hour finale, viewers will watch as the final three designers return home to begin work on their lines, each being visited by series Mentor Brian Bailey, allowing viewers to learn more about their personal lives and families, as well as to get a sneak peek at their collections. The three finalists will face-off in front of the who’s-who of Canadian Fashion at Toronto’s L’Oréal FashionWeek. Each contestant will present their line before Iman, judges Rita Silvan, Editor-in-Chief of ELLE Canada, and Shawn Hewson, co-founder of leading Canadian sportswear label Bustle Clothing, the media, and an audience of industry luminaries. At the end, the first-ever winner of Project Runway Canada will be crowned – walking away with $100,000 to begin their own fashion line, a professional portfolio photo shoot provided by L’Oréal Paris, a retail mentorship with Winners and a cover and feature spread showing their winning collection in ELLE Canada.

After yesterday’s episode, which sent Shernett Swaby packing, Evan Biddell, 23, from Saskatoon, , Marie Genevieve Cyr, 25, from Montreal, Lucian Matis, 27, from Toronto and Stephen Wong, 38, from Toronto are the remaining Project Runway Canada designers. On the December 10th episode the audience will learn which three of these designers will move onto the final challenge.

Produced by Insight Production Company Ltd. the highly-anticipated Canadian adaptation of the Emmy nominated and critically acclaimed U.S. series, developed by Miramax and The Weinstein Company for Bravo, debuted with Slice’s™ fall 2007 season.
