on Thursday, October 25, 2007 - 04:03 PM |
Canada AM gives Canadians an inside look at Her Excellency the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, when the Governor General of Canada opens her home for an exclusive one-on-one interview with Canada AM's Beverly Thomson. Canada AM will be live on location at Rideau Hall on Friday, Oct. 26 just before the 100th Order of Canada ceremony.
With special access inside Rideau Hall, Thomson will receive a behind-the-scenes tour as she finds out what life is like for the Governor General. Also, as Rideau Hall prepares for the 100th Order of Canada ceremony, Thomson will visit Louis Charest, Rideau Hall's official chef, who will do a cooking demonstration while discussing the special menu created for the event.
Thomson will also speak with various guests who will be receiving the Order of Canada as she shows viewers what it takes to prepare for this special ceremony.
As Canada's highest civilian honour, over 5,000 people have received the Order of Canada since its inception in 1967. This year, 12 officers and 28 members will receive the award.
Wake up to the world of Canada AM, television's morning star and Canada's most watched national morning newsmagazine. Co-hosts Beverly Thomson and Seamus O'Regan along with Jeff Hutcheson and Marci Ien bring Canadians a unique blend of hard news and lifestyle stories featuring in-depth interviews with top newsmakers, celebrities and musical stars. Lis Travers is the Vice-President and Executive Producer for Canada AM and Robert Hurst is President of CTV News.
