CTV Wins Sunday with Top 3 Shows

CTV cleaned up on the final night of Premiere Week on Canadian television, taking Sunday and finishing with five out of seven nights with the season premiere of Desperate Housewives and a strong debut for Dirty Sexy Money out of simulcast. In the end, CTV delivered the Top 3 programs on Canadian television last night:

1. Nationally at 9 p.m., Desperate Housewives attracted 2.1 million viewers, including 1.1 million viewers A18-49. It was the No. 1 show of the night with twice as many viewers as Family Guy (FOX/Global, 1.1 million) and three times as many as American Dad (FOX/Global, 752,000). Desperate Housewives was No. 1 in Toronto and Vancouver in total viewers and A18-49.

2. At 10 p.m., the out-of-simulcast series debut of Dirty Sexy Money on CTV attracted 1.1 million viewers, landing the show at No. 3 for the night and beating the simulcast national broadcast of Brothers & Sisters (No. 6, CBS/Global, 944,000).

3. At 8 p.m., Cold Case on CTV delivered 1.3 million viewers to become the No. 2 show of the night. Head-to-head, Cold Case bested both The Simpsons at 8 p.m. (FOX/Global, 1.1 million) and King of the Hill at 8:30 p.m. (FOX/Global, 752,000).

On Friday, CTV won its fourth night of Premiere Week with the season premiere of Ghost Whisperer (1.3 million). No. 1 in all demos at 8 p.m., Ghost Whisperer nearly doubled the season premiere of Numbers (CBS/ Global, 716,000). CTV delivered 4 of the Top 5 shows on Friday.

CTV finishes Premiere Week with 8 out of the Top 10 shows as well as the No. 1 new drama of the season, Private Practice.
