| They’re Back and They’re Pucked. Get Ready For Season 2 of Rent-A-Goalie |

Gemini-nominated Showcase Original Series Rent-A-Goalie laces up for its second season opener on October 28. The first two episodes air back-to-back beginning at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT. In Season 2, Café Primo proudly re-opens after the fire set by paranoid Toronto goalie Harry “Hey-O” Bontar. But the new café isn’t safe for long. Drafted for the season are hockey greats Phil and Tony Esposito, Darryl Sittler, Mike Palmateer, Tie Domi, Paul Coffey, as well as Michael Landsberg and Sonja Smits.

The first season of Rent-A-Goalie has been nominated for this year’s Gemini Awards for Best Comedy Series, Best Ensemble Performance in a Comedy Series and Best Achievement in Casting as well as for DGC, ACTRA and Canadian Comedy awards.

Episodes and outtakes from the second season of Rent-A-Goalie will be streamed online at www.showcase.ca/goalie on the day following their broadcast premiere (Sundays at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT) on Showcase. Viewers can also catch the cast of Rent-A-Goalie as they’ve never seen them before in a web-only “Lost Episode”.
In Season 2, hockey-crazed, recovered-from-everything go-to guy Cake (series creator Christopher Bolton), is back and has managed to win over the patrons of Café Primo. But things start to heat up when Cake has to deal with his nefarious past, a goalie strike, a daring suburban rescue, a Tie Domi charity event that turns ugly, and, of course, the beautiful and feisty Francesca (Inga Cadranel). Through it all, Cake supplies goalies to local hockey teams that find themselves with an empty net, all the while trying to live and run his business by The Code – an ever-evolving set of credos, personal ethics, and spiritual maxims that keep him on the straight and narrow – most of the time.
Rent-A-Goalie stars Christopher Bolton, Inga Cadranel, Louis Di Bianco, Mayko Nguyen, Carlos Diaz, Joe Pingue, Gabriel Hogan, Jeremy Wright, Philip Riccio, Maria Vacratsis, Pascal Petardi, Matt Gordon, Oliver Becker and Stephen Amell. Directed by T.W. Peacocke (Show Me Yours, Gemini-nominated for Canada Russia 72) and Jim Allodi (The Uncles, Degrassi: The Next Generation, and Gemini winner for Naked Josh), with Christopher Bolton, Christopher Szarka and Nicholas J.
