Bill Clement joins Hockeycentral

Rogers Sportsnets

Bill Clement, one of the most recognizable and respected voices in hockey, joins Rogers Sportsnet beginning Monday, October 1 at 7:00 p.m. (ET/MT/PT) on Hockeycentral Season Preview.

"Bill adds an exciting new dimension to our Hockeycentral panel," said Dave Akande, Vice President Content, Rogers Sportsnet. "With over three decades of experience as a player and announcer Bill's knowledge of the NHL and contacts within the game make him a welcome addition to Sportsnet's hockey coverage."

Starting with the Season Preview show, Clement's in-studio Hockeycentral appearances will include, NHL Trade Deadline Day coverage on February 26 and the NHL Playoff Preview in April. Clement will also appear on Hockeycentral via satellite periodically throughout the regular season.

A native of Buckingham, Quebec, Clement was drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in the second round (18th overall) of the 1970 NHL Amateur Draft. He played four seasons with the Flyers where he helped the team win back-to-back Stanley Cups in 1974 and 1975. Clement's 11-year career included stops in Washington, Atlanta and Calgary where he finished his playing career in 1982 with the Flames.

Clement made the transition from the ice to the broadcast booth in 1986 when he joined ESPN as an NHL analyst. Amazingly, starting in 1986, Clement worked on the broadcast crew of at least one game in every NHL Final for 19 consecutive years (the streak was halted by the 2004-05 NHL lock-out).

Clement has become one of the most credible hockey voices in the United
States. His work behind the microphone included coverage of the 2002 and
2006 Winter Olympics. Over his 20-plus years in front of the camera
south of the border Clement has worked for ESPN, ABC, NBC, OLN and
SportsChannel.
