Rebecca Hardy is "Canada's Next Top Model"

CITY-TV

Rebecca Hardy, a 22 year-old factory worker from Mannheim, Ontario earned the title of "Canada's Next Top Model" in the exciting season finale on Citytv Wednesday night.

In the highly-anticipated finale, the final four - Rebecca, Sinead, Tara and Tia, face off in a CoverGirl commercial shoot with photographer Jim De Yonker. All the girls surprisingly impress the judges, but when it comes time to eliminate, Tara and Tia are sent home.

In the last challenge, Rebecca and Sinead take to the catwalk in a Lucian Matis Runway Show. With a Victorian theme, theatrical poses and winding runway, it is their last chance to impress the judges and prove they deserve to be Canada's Next Top Model. Both girls put on their best game faces as they strut the runway, showing why they are the final two in the competition. During final deliberations, Host Jay Manuel admits that this is one of the closest races in Top Model history. The judges think Sinead is a very classic and commercial beauty, while Rebecca is more high-fashion and less of a girl-next door. Judge Jeanne Beker thinks they would both be able to take on the fashion world and succeed.

But in the end, the judges think that only one girl can take fashion to another level, and Rebecca is named Canada's Next Top Model.

"Rebecca is the total package! She's got the looks, the smarts and the passion to be a bonafide success in this business, said Jay Manuel, Host/Executive Producer of "Canada's Next Top Model". "I will continue to mentor her beyond the realm of the show. Expect to see her

make a splash on the international modelling scene."

As Canada's Next Top Model, Rebecca walks away with a $100,000 beauty contract from P&G Beauty, a modelling contract with top agency, Sutherland Models and an editorial spread in FASHION Magazine.
