CTVglobemedia announced today it will re-name its financial news television service Report on Business Television to BNN – Business News Network, effective Monday, March 12 at 6 a.m. ET.
Report on Business Television launched in 1999, borrowing the name of the Globe and Mail’s venerable Report on Business brand. The network, which operates as a separate television newsroom under the CTV News Division, will continue its successful association with The Globe and Mail including regular contribution from The Globe and Mail’s business journalists, but under its own new brand name. The Report on Business brand will now be associated exclusively with The Globe and Mail.
“It’s time in the channel’s evolution for stand-alone identity,” said Jack Fleischmann, General Manager. “BNN – Business News Network delivers a television-friendly brand that defines us instantly in today’s 500-channel universe.”
About BNN – Business News Network
BNN – Business News Network will continue to be Canada’s foremost financial news television service, with the same successful format and commitment to being the first destination for Canadians in search of comprehensive coverage of the markets, together with up-to-the-minute business and financial news.
The BNN – Business News Network schedule remains unchanged with the same team of top business journalists leading popular programs like Market Morning, The Street, Trading Day and After Hours. In addition to covering the day’s news, BNN – Business News Network will offer a series of specials that examine timely and relevant business and financial issues concerning Canadians. Upcoming special coverage includes a look at the impact of global warming on the Canadian economy, the Conrad Black trial, and the BNN C-Suite Survey – where Canadian executives share their views on important economic issues.
