Luck of the Irish brings St. Patrick day programming

Biography Channel

The Biography Channel announced that it will be raising a glass to St. Paddy with programming that celebrates Irish heritage. The day long St. Patrick's Day schedule begins at 10a.m. (ET) on Sunday, March 16th and includes biographies of some of the most well-known personalities of Irish heritage such as Maureen O'Hara, Joseph P. Kennedy, Peter O'Toole and St. Patrick himself, the patron saint of Ireland.

This special Biography Channel programming gives viewers the opportunity to discover a thing or two about what it really means to be Irish.

Programming Highlights - A Celebration of Irish Heritage: Sunday, March 16

Saint Patrick
Shot in England, Ireland, and Wales, the biography travels to the fifth century to explore Patrick's transformation from privileged aristocrat to tormented slave to missionary hero. Follow his enslavement by the Celts, escape to Wales, and attempts to change pagan behavior.
Air Time: 10am ET/7am PT

Joseph P. Kennedy
A portrait of the iron-fisted patriarch who wheeled and dealed his way to wealth and power. This documentary includes a look at his shady affairs in Wall Street boardrooms and Hollywood bedrooms.

Ronald Reagan

Maureen O'Hara

Peter O'Toole
One of the greatest English actors of the 20th century, Peter O'Toole burst onto the scene in the epic "Lawrence of Arabia" and nurtured a reputation as a larger-than-life lothario in love with liquor and language. This biography includes fabulous film and stage footage and interviews with daughter Kate and former wife Sian Phillips round out his story.

Oscar Wilde
The life of the legendary writer and wit who was the toast of London in the 1890s, but who ended his days alone after a homosexual affair led to his imprisonment. Using a surprising wealth of archival material, including hundreds of photos, readings from Wilde's letters, and period cartoons and drawings, we call the literary giant who delighted th highest rungs of society with his brilliance, charm and aesthetic dress.

Maureen Forrester
This Montreal-born singer was known as a down-to-earth diva - enjoying her role as the witch in Hansel and Gretel as much as singing in the major opera house in Europe. She began singing in church choirs and went on to become one of the greatest interpreters of Mahler lieder the world has ever known producing scores of recordings, and giving more than 100 concerts a year.
