GOLTV Canada Announces Launch on Bell ExpressVu
Posted on Wednesday, October 18, 2006 - 06:22 PM
Gol TV Canada

GOLTV Canada announced today the launch of the network with Bell ExpressVu. GOLTV is available nationally on channel 404.

GOLTV is Canada’s first 24-hour soccer network, airing more than 1,500 matches a year, with live game action from league powerhouses Spain, Italy, Germany and Brazil. GOLTV’s weekly live action showcases the world’s top soccer stars, including Brazilian stars Ronaldinho (2004 and 2005 FIFA World Player of the Year) and Ronaldo, British star David Beckham and many more.

As an added benefit to viewers, GOLTV is available in English and Spanish, with an SAP (Supplemental Audio Programming) option for Spanish language commentary.

GOLTV is owned and operated in Canada by Insights Sports Ltd.

“As the World Cup showed this past summer, Canadians are passionate about soccer, and it’s only fitting that fans now have a network in GOLTV dedicated 24/7 to the sport they love -- on Bell ExpressVu,” says Mark Rubinstein, President, Insight Sports. “Soccer is one of the fastest growing sports in Canada, and GOLTV provides fans with more live soccer action than they’ll see anywhere else.”

Soccer’s popularity is on the rise: In 2004, more than 825,000 Canadian players were registered with the Canadian Soccer Association, making soccer one of the most popular sports in the nation.
