Kevin Costner first showed us how to ‘serve and protect’ back in 1992 with “The Bodyguard”; now Star! takes an in-depth look at professional guardians who are always on the look out for danger. From rock stars and dignitaries, to A-list celebrities and politicians, “Guarding The Stars” is a one-hour mini-documentary which breaks into the secure world of the Close Protection Officer, a.k.a. personal bodyguard, to those who require the essential security.
The special, which traces a brief history of the personal bodyguard, as well as some of their defining moments in history, provides the viewer with a glimpse into the world of close-protection and its relevance on today’s Red Carpets, premieres and everyday lives of the stars. Through a series of interviews with actors, bodyguard-turned-actors, musicians, security specialists, entertainment pundits and close protection personnel, the viewer will become privy to some of the finer details of this necessary, but often misunderstood, line of work. And we promise…no Whitney Houston anthems.
