In the second act of Slings and Arrows, viewers are once again invited behind the scenes of the New Burbage Theatre Festival. Geoffrey Tennant (Paul Gross), now firmly installed in his role as Artistic Director, is heir to the problems of his predecessor, the late, and sorely missed, Oliver Welles (Stephen Ouimette). Geoffrey takes a stab at staging the Bard’s cursed play, Macbeth, which Oliver had obsessively researched for years

Also stars Rachel McAdams, Martha Burns and Luke Kirby. Fresh from their Tony Award® win for the Broadway hit The Drowsy Chaperone, Series Creative Producer Bob Martin, Don McKellar, who stars as the petulant director Darren Nichol, and guest star and lyricist Lisa Lambert reprise their roles in this second season.
In the first episode, the Festival is in severe financial crisis without its sponsor Cosmopolitan Lenstrex, and Richard (Mark McKinney) goes to wannabe board member and savvy businessman Mr. Archer, begging for a financial infusion. Jack (Luke Kirby), leaving to star in his next blockbuster film, proposes to Kate (Rachel McAdams) - an offer she is inclined to refuse in favour of her acting career. And Ellen’s (Martha Burns) boytoy, Sloan, also proposes, an offer she refuses after she and Geoffrey (Paul Gross) argue their way into their first kiss in seven years.
Season 2 of Slings and Arrows airs at 8 p.m. ET/PT Sundays beginning October 15 on Showcase.
