| On The Road Again set to begin its 20th season |

on Wednesday, September 20, 2006 - 05:50 PM |
This season marks the 20th anniversary of CBC Television’s popular series ON THE ROAD AGAIN. Host Wayne Rostad celebrates by hitting the road, Thursday, Oct. 12 at 7:30 p.m.
First stop is the remote community of Trout Lake in the N.W.T., where, 17 years ago, Dennis Deneron was appointed chief. Since then, Deneron has helped to make Trout Lake a thriving community and managed to stare down the big oil and gas companies. In the process, he made himself so indispensable, the people of Trout Lake won’t let him quit.
This season, Rostad’s unpredictable adventures will also take him to the Magdalen Islands, where he drops in on a man who used the island’s winds to reshape his life. In P.E.I., Rostad will knit and pearl with a 12-year-old girl who’s making a scarf that is already 140 feet long. He also meets a high-wire aerialist in St. John’s and plays a round of golf in Pangnirtung on Baffin Island.
Throughout the years, Rostad and his well-travelled crew have criss-crossed the country, sharing the stories of the people who are pursuing their passions, whether heart-warming or quirky.
