William Shatner's Ego Is Blasted To The Final Frontier When He Gets Roasted on The Comedy Network

Comedy Network

William Shatner, the Canadian-born, Emmy Award-winning actor, boldly goes where only the boldest have gone before in an uproarious, all-new, 90-minute roast. Led by Roast Master Jason Alexander, The Comedy Central Roast of William Shatner premieres Saturday, Oct. 7 at 10 p.m. ET/PT exclusively on The Comedy Network.

From the captain's chair of the original U.S.S. Enterprise, Shatner steers his way through a barrage of attacks on everything from his age, to his acting, to his large repertoire of bombs. Throwing the zingers at warp speed are fellow Trekkies Leonard Nimoy, George Takei, Nichelle Nicols, Boston Legal cast mate Betty White and Miss Congeniality co-star Sandra Bullock.
Official roasters include Andy Dick, Farrah Fawcett, Greg Giraldo, Clint Howard, Jimmy Kimmel, Lisa Lampanelli, Artie Lange, Patten Oswalt, Kevin Pollak, Jeffrey Ross, Sarah Silverman, Ben Stiller, Sharon Stone and Fred Willard.

Highlights from the evening include:
-Shatner riding in on a white horse and his rousing rendition of the song Rocket Man;
-Greg Giraldo ripping Shatner's hairline and taking jabs at Mel Gibson;
-Andy Dick on a licking spree that stuns the crowd, then conducting a dramatic reading in character as Leonard Nimoy;
-George Takei covering his own ass, literally, on stage;
-Lisa Lampanelli, the Queen of Mean, unleashing a verbal assault that fired-up the crowd to a standing ovation.

Originally from Montreal, Quebec, William Shatner is one of pop culture's most recognizable figures. He has cultivated a career that has spanned over 50 years as an Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning actor, director, producer, screenwriter, recording artist, author, horseman and philanthropist. Best known for his starring role as Captain James T. Kirk of the U.S.S. Enterprise on the hit tv series Star Trek (1966-69) and seven of the subsequent movies, he is also known for his starring role in the popular police drama T.J. Hooker (1982-85). Shatner currently plays lawyer Denny Crane in the hit series Boston Legal.
