SCREAM’s heart-stopping fall schedule is anchored by the second season of Showtime’s Masters of Horror series, a collection of frightening films from acclaimed directors and writers of the horror genre. Viewers can also look forward to the introduction of Triple Thrill, three uncut, adrenaline-boosting movies aired back-to-back, starting at 7 p.m. every night of the week. SEPTEMBER: Creature Feature Month Each Friday night in September, SCREAM screens a gruesome, 21st Century remake of an over-the-top classic creature feature from the '50s: Earth vs. the Spider (2001) A shy, obsessive comic book fan is injected with an experimental serum that gives humans spider-like abilities. This film stars Dan Aykroyd, Devon Gummersall and Theresa Russell and is directed by Scott Ziehl. How to Make a Monster (2001) Three computer game developers come up with a killer new monster for their latest game. This movie features Clea Duvall, Steven Culp and Tyler Mane and is directed by George Huang. The Day the World Ended (2001) A child therapist unwittingly unleashes a terrifying beast with a lust for justice when she treats a bright but obviously disturbed young man. The film stars Natassja Kinski, Randy Quaid and Bobby Edner and is directed by Terence Gross. She-Creature (2001) An Irish sideshow owner steals a live mermaid from an old sea captain and stows her on board a ship headed for America, only to learn she is, in fact, a bloodthirsty beast set on luring the ship's crew to their doom. The movie features Rufus Sewell, Carla Gugino and Gil Bellows and is directed by Sebastian Gutierrez. Teenage Caveman (2002) In a post-apocalyptic future, two primitive teens battle genetically altered "super-humans" who need sex with regular humans to survive. The film stars Andrew Keegan, Tara Subkoff and Richard Hillman and is directed by Larry Clark. OCTOBER: Masters of Horror Season 2 -SCREAM Exclusive- What fresh horror is this? Masters of Horror returns to SCREAM with a new season of pure, unadulterated terror. Thirteen of the most acclaimed directors tell scary tales in their own distinctive styles. Each one-hour film is directed by a genius of the genre, including John Carpenter, Joe Dante, Tobe Hooper, Brad Anderson, Tom Holland and John Landis. Season two writers include Clive Barker, Richard C. Matheson, Mick Garris and Brent Hanley. SCREAM is the exclusive Canadian broadcaster of the award-winning Showtime series, which this year received a prestigious Saturn Award from the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films for Best Television Presentation. MOVIE MANIA MONTH Since it was first introduced in 2002, Movie Mania has consistently made October SCREAM's most-watched month of the year; 2006 is sure to be no different. For the entire month of October, SCREAM puts all other programming on the shelf for a solid schedule of movies, movies and more movies. This year's Movie Mania titles include The Fly, Volcano, Interview With the Vampire, Scream 2, Tremors, The Terminator and Aliens. NOVEMBER: Alien Smackdown! In November, we're giving martians the bodyslam and putting pod people in a finger-four leg-lock! SCREAM is airing a month of movies dedicated to alien invasions. Alien SmackDown! highlights include: Starship Troopers, Independence Day, Predator, Species and Invasion of the Body Snatchers. DECEMBER: Jingle Hell Ho, ho, horrors! Jingle Hell is SCREAM's antidote to the warm, fuzzy, feel-good fare that's everywhere else during the festive season. It's a week packed with films about gremlins, ghosts, psychopaths and even the Devil himself! Scheduled films include: The Omen, The Exorcist, The Amityville Horror, Conqueror Worm and The Witches of Eastwick.
