LTV announces carriage with SaskTel and partnership with Saskatchewan Soccer Association
Posted on Thursday, June 22, 2006 - 05:18 PM
Gol TV Canada

GOLTV Canada announced a carriage agreement for the network with SaskTel. GOLTV is available on channel 160 to SaskTel Max™ Entertainment Services customers in Regina, Saskatoon, Prince Albert, North Battleford, Swift Current, Moose Jaw, Yorkton Estevan and Weyburn. The launch of GOLTV coincides with a grassroots partnership with the Saskatchewan Soccer Association (SSA).

With the World Cup well underway, GOLTV and the SSA announced today that they’ve joined forces to work together, continuing the growth of soccer in Saskatchewan.

The partnership includes a major GOLTV presence at various SSA tournaments and events, and the network will be providing a number of premium items to all participants as added benefit to the association’s membership through the soccer season.

GOLTV is Canada’s first 24-hour soccer network, airing more than 1,500 games a year, with live game action from league powerhouses Spain, Italy and Brazil. The network has daily wall-to-wall coverage from Germany 2006 with its flagship show GOLTV News. GOLTV’s weekly live action showcases the world’s top soccer stars, including Brazilian stars Ronaldinho (2004 and 2005 FIFA World Player of the Year) and Ronaldo, British star David Beckham, Italian stars Vieri and Totti, and many others.

Soccer’s popularity is on the rise: In 2004, more than 825,000 Canadian players were registered with the Canadian Soccer Association, making soccer one of the most popular sports in the nation.
