Grammy-Nominated singer/songwriter Lisa Loeb stars in the reality series #1 Single

Billboard-topping singer-songwriter Lisa Loeb is on a quest to have it all: love, success, career and family. All she needs to find now is the guy. At 37-years-old, and single for the first time in 12 years, Loeb is eager to settle down and start a family. This desire ignites a dating frenzy as she moves from Los Angeles back to New York City in search of her soul mate. The performer’s hunt is documented in the new eight-part series #1 Single, beginning Wednesday July 5 at 10 p.m. ET/ 7 p.m. PT on Life Network and airing weekly in that timeslot.

“I decided to do this TV series because what I do as a musician and songwriter is connect to an audience, so why not take that to another level,” says Loeb. “Through my lyrics and performances, I share my life and personal experiences with others who, over the years, have told me it’s made an impact on their lives. I see this series as a way to connect with more people on a larger scale and continue to do what I love most, which is to entertain.”

“What single girl hasn’t heard that dreaded, impossible-to-answer question; “How come you are still single?” So many smart, funny, talented, endearing, and professional women in their thirties today have difficulty finding someone to share their life with and it’s comforting to know that even celebrities, who often seem to come by love more easily than the average woman, can find themselves in the same boat,” says Vanessa Case, Vice President, Content, Life Network. “Whether attached or notoriously single, Life Network viewers will connect with Lisa’s high’s and low’s in this series and her dating adventures are sure to keep them laughing and hopeful.”

Loeb is on the hunt for a man that embodies a list of attributes – an intelligent city guy with a sense of humour, sensitive (but not wimpy), adventurous, family-oriented (Jewish preferred) and must love cats. Anyone on a diet or with fake hair need not apply. But from a date that serenades her with a cringe-worthy karaoke version of her own hit single “Stay” to one who spends more time talking on his cell phone that he does to her, will she find what she’s looking for? And when her old friend Michael signs on to help her search for bachelors, are his efforts legit or can this wingman become her leading man?

Helping and hindering Loeb’s search for love are Debbie, her younger sister who is recently single herself and convinced all Loeb needs is a good push-up bra, Juan, her ex-boyfriend, and a myriad of celebrity friends including Dr. Joy Browne of Dating for Dummies, actress Ileanna Douglas who feng shui’s Lisa’s new apartment to optimize her romance area, and Queer Eye for the Straight Guy’s Jai Rodriguez, who lends Lisa his dog to use as a guy magnet. And of course there is Lisa’s mom, not-so-patiently waiting for grandchildren.

#1 Single will enjoy encore presentations on Life Network Sundays at 5 p.m. ET/2 p.m. PT and on Showcase Diva, Sundays at 7 p.m. ET beginning July 9.
