| Alliance Atlantis to Supply Cogeco Cable with Movies for New Video on Demand Service |

Alliance Atlantis Communications Inc. and COGECO
Cable Inc. announced today they have signed a long-term agreement to provide movies for COGECO Cable's new Video on Demand (VOD) service, set to launch in November, 2002. Video on Demand, the newest development in the burgeoning home entertainment market, significantly expands consumers' choices for accessing movies through digital cable.
"Alliance Atlantis is committed to making our extensive slate of exceptional films titles available to Canadian consumers," said Patrice Theroux, President, Alliance Atlantis Motion Picture Distribution Group. "This agreement enables us to offer television viewers thousands of excellent motion pictures."

"COGECO Cable can now offer its digital clients very easy and user-friendly access to its Video on Demand service, allowing them to watch, at their convenience, movies selected from the huge Alliance Atlantis library."
Alliance Atlantis will supply COGECO Cable with an impressive lineup of current releases as well as older titles from its catalogue of films. To
inaugurate the service and to initiate the Alliance Atlantis/ COGECO Cable agreement, major titles will be available on COGECO Cable VOD throughout the fall of 2002, including Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, I am Sam, John Q., Gosford Park and Kate and Leopold.
Once launched, COGECO Cable's VOD service will give Digital TV customers the option to select from these and other programs through an online ordering system, accessible from their Digital Program Guide. VOD offers VCR-type functionality, including pause, rewind and fast forward options.
