Shaw Picks Up Corus' Thriller Channel SCREAM

With the announcement today that Shaw
Communications Inc. will carry Corus entertainment's SCREAM, western viewers
served by Shaw Cable will now have access to one of Canada's most popular digital channels just in time for Halloween. To launch the service, Shaw Communications is now offering current digital subscribers a free viewing period of SCREAM programming until December 31, 2002.

"We've been inundated with requests from western Canadians asking us how they can get SCREAM and we're thrilled they will now have the opportunity to watch this service on Shaw Cable," says Michael Harris, Vice President and General Manager, SCREAM. "SCREAM offers something for everyone; suspenseful series, thrillers and films to satisfy the most dedicated fans of horror."

SCREAM, aimed at adults 18+, is a digital channel for fans of the thriller, suspense and horror genres. Corus Entertainment launched the service in September 2001 and the channel quickly proved to be a favourite with viewers. SCREAM is Canada's third most popular digital channel for
adults*.

SCREAM's growing audience is attracted to the service's rich programming schedule. The Canadian premiere of Evil Dead II, the imaginative comedy/horror film from Spider-Man director SAM RAIMI airs Saturday October 26, at midnight and repeats on Halloween, Thursday October 31, at
midnight.

The gripping British thriller series Touching Evil produced by PAUL ABBOTT (Coronation Street, Cracker) premieres Sunday November 10, 10 p.m. and SCREAM also has the exclusive broadcasts of David Lynch's Twin Peaks (Monday - Friday, 9 p.m.) and Chris Carter's Millennium (Monday - Sunday, 5 p.m.).

-SCREAM's Serial Thriller Marathon Month in October featuring, among other films, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre series Friday October 25, at
midnight

-Black Sunday starring ROBERT SHAW and BRUCE DERN airs Sunday October 20, 10 p.m.

-The Dead Zone starring CHRISTOPHER WALKEN airs Saturday October 25, 10 p.m.

-FRANCIS FORD COPPOLA's The Conversation starring GENE HACKMAN airs Saturday November 23 at 10 p.m.

-Canada's Black Christmas starring MARGOT KIDDER and ANDREA MARTIN airs Friday December 13 at 10 p.m. with a repeat on Tuesday December 24 at 10:00 p.m.

-The uncut version of the notorious movie Dead Alive from Lord of the Rings director PETER JACKSON airs Monday December 16, at midnight and repeats Thursday December 26, at midnight

-The acclaimed horror series Boris Karloff's Thriller premieres on January 4, 2003 at noon. Stephen King described Thriller as "...the best
horror series ever put on TV".
