CHUM Appoints Gabrielle Free Director of Communication, CHUM Television Music and Youth Services

Mary Powers, Vice President Communication, CHUM Limited, is pleased to announce the appointment of Gabrielle Free to the position of Director of Communication, CHUM Television Music and Youth Services, which include MuchMusic, MuchMoreMusic, MuchVibe, MuchLOUD MuchMoreRetro, Razer and PunchMuch. Free will oversee all communication strategy and publicity activities for these leading Canadian brands, which are available from coast to coast on a variety of platforms including television, on-line and wireless.

Gabrielle Free brings a wealth of experience in publicity and corporate communications. She began her career at the Toronto International Film Festival Group where she grew to become Director of Communications. Gabrielle has also worked as a freelance publicist at YTV, the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television, Festival Film Jakmel, Floating Film Festival, and the Ontario Media Development Corporation, among others. Most recently, Free joined the Ontario Public Service in the communications branch for the Ministry of Citizenship & Immigration. She has a BA in English and Film from the University of Western Ontario and a diploma in Corporate Communications from Seneca College.

The appointment is effective February 15, 2006.
