Canadian super-vixen turned international superstar Pamela Anderson is about to get roasted like she never has before. Anchoring The Comedy Network's 2006 winter schedule is The Comedy Central Roast of Pamela Anderson, premiering Saturday, February 4 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
The 90-minute special puts Anderson in the hot seat as she gets burnt by some of the best roasters around. The network will also debut an original new series, You Bet Your Ass, a hybrid homegrown game show combining pop-culture trivia with high stakes betting, as well as three all-new original specials: The Frantics reunion special, Comic Genius; the world's first online stand-up comedy contest; and an all-new Cream of Comedy. Finally, two new South Park episodes, "Trapped in the Closet" and "Bloody Mary," continue to push the envelope in animated comedy. South Park - "Trapped in the Closet" Stan is the Chosen one in the South Park episode "Trapped in the Closet" premiering Friday, Jan. 27 at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT, exclusively on The Comedy Network. Stan looks to a new religion for answers. The Church of Scientology recognizes Stan as the reincarnation of founder L. Ron Hubbard. Hollywood celebrities John Travolta and Tom Cruise join the faithful and set up camp at Stan's house. When Stan shuns Tom for his poor acting ability, Tom locks himself in the closet believing he has failed in the eyes of the Prophet. Tom's ex Nicole Kidman, John Travolta and R&B sensation R. Kelly all try to persuade Tom to come out of the closet but their plan backfires and John and R. Kelly end up in the closet with Tom. South Park - "Bloody Mary" In "Bloody Mary," Stan's dad is arrested for drunk driving. When he hears that the faithful are flocking to a bleeding statue of the Virgin Mary, Stan's dad is sure the Virgin can cure him of his drinking. When he manages to work his way to the front of the line and gets splashed with the Virgin's blood, he vows he'll never drink again and declares his cure a miracle. You Bet Your Ass Contestants put their "ass on the line" in a unique new game show that combines the unpredictability of casino black jack with hilarious pop-culture trivia. Frantic foursome Peter Wildman (The Red Green Show), Dan Redican (Puppets Who Kill), Rick Green (History Bites, The Red Green Show) and Paul Chato (Jewels of The Oracle) originally joined forces over 25 years ago and are best known for the radio show Frantic Times (1981), television series 4 on the Floor (1986) and the album Boot to the Head (1987). Taped in front of a live studio audience, the special features all-new material, trademark songs and classic favourites such as "Mr. Canoehead," "Mr. Interesting," "Jason Mahooch, Master of Disguises" and "Boot to the Head" for a nostalgic blast from the past.
