OPEN WIDE FOR… JAWBREAKER WITH BRAD FRASER
FRIDAYS AT 10:00PM ET/PT – WORLD PREMIERE OCTOBER 11
REPEATS TUESDAYS AT 9:00PM ET/PT
Open wide – and try to wrap your mouth around JAWBREAKER WITH BRAD FRASER. The one-hour talk/debate show promises to combine the best of chat fare of such shows as LATE NIGHT WITH DAVID LETTERMAN, THE TONIGHT SHOW, minus the shtick, with a more edgy and potentially explosive version of Bill Maher’s POLITICALLY INCORRECT and just a touch of CHARLIE ROSE. JAWBREAKER is a post-modern take on the stale talk show format with a gay focus and edge that has been sorely missing from the airwaves… that is, until now.
Internationally noted, award-winning playwright and director Brad Fraser is no stranger to the airwaves he plans on terrorizing with his new show. Fraser has made a name for himself through his many guest appearances on various television and radio shows, but this time he’s in the driver’s seat – so fasten your seat belts! He’s intelligent, brash, outspoken and not afraid to ruffle feathers; although he does possess enough diplomacy and humour to defuse even the tensest and most controversial of situations.
Fraser’s diverse background makes him equally comfortable with people from show business, politicians, academics, and artists to the average Joe. Believing everyone has a fascinating story to tell, he knows exactly which buttons to push to get to the juiciest of details and right to the heart of the real issues. Moreover, he’s not afraid to share amusing or arresting personal anecdotes in order to get people to open up. In fact, in his dense career, Fraser has faced down boards of directors, homophobic politicians, outraged gay activists and, in one celebrated case, the entire city of Cincinnati -- always managing to make his case and come out on top.
What can you expect on JAWBREAKER? Three weekly guests will be chosen, with the possibility of one or two semi-regulars to be added to Fraser’s dynamic platform. While all guests will be unique and diverse, all will share the same criteria: they will have insight, perspective, and have “it.” This groundbreaking current affair series will not just be about famous people; it’s also about people who work with famous people, people who want to be famous people, people who hate famous people and people who don’t care about fame at all. Like a good party, it’s all about inviting the right people and mixing them with various spoilers. Militant lesbians, circuit queens, renown novelists, celebrated painters, closeted actors, bitchy columnists, pathetic wannabes – whoever and whatever; the essential ingredient is the bringing together of disparate personalities and having an opportunity to shine a light on what makes them tick.
The first half of the show will have Brad Fraser going one-on-one with his chosen guest. Whether guests are plugging current products or projects, experts on a particular subject – they all share one common denominator: they are all intriguing people. The second half of the show draws Brad and the guests into a debate/discussion/argument, based on either a current but not time dependant event or concern- or an idea that springs out of the earlier interviews or the day’s hottest headlines.
There will be gay guests, straight guests, and guests of indeterminate sexuality. Whoever is on, expect three constants: lively debate, occasional yelling and lots of fun! What sets JAWBREAKER apart from all the other chat shows? While Fraser will make people stand up and speak their passionate minds, he will also demand that they listen. Are you ready to swallow Brad Fraser’s jawbreaker? Tune in and hold on to your seats… it’s going to be a bumpy ride.

THIS ISN’T YOUR FATHER’S LOCKER ROOM!
SATURDAYS AT 11:30PM ET/PT – NEW EPISODES PREMIERE OCTOBER 5
# OF EPISODES X EPISODE LENGTH
Gay sports? An oxymoron, no more -- thanks to the groundbreaking, runaway hit of PrideVision TV’s LOCKER ROOM! Duck for cover Michael Jordan because the sports world will never be the same again. Tackling everything from jockstraps to strapping jocks, LOCKER ROOM, the world’s first gay sports show, has hit a homerun people can’t stop talking about. This satirical look at an industry that was once used to alienate homosexuals has scored a highly entertaining and informative half-hour that has fans screaming “replay, replay, replay!”
Hosted by breakout star (and co-creator/co-writer) Paul DeBoy, and co-written and co-starring funnyman Paul Bellini (THIS HOUR HAS 22 MINUTES, KIDS IN THE HALL), LOCKER ROOM has immediately become must-see television for people of all sexualities. A cross between SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE and ESPN – LOCKER ROOM is the perfect place to hang out with the guys.
LOCKER ROOM, a show that is quickly drawing a cult following all over the world, covers amateur gay athletics from across the country. In addition, LOCKER ROOM focuses on sports played in international arenas such as the Gay Games, as well as professional baseball, tennis, hockey and other in-door sports gay men love to play. Who knew sports could be this fun and sexy?
To date, less than one hundred professional athletes have come out of the closet. Over the course of the series, Locker Room profiles several of these heroes and heroines. Locker Room also features sports-themed skits and monologues by DeBoy, Bellini and irreverent scene-stealer Nina Arsenault (PrideVision Gay Jay), along with various talented special guest stars. Recurring sketches include:
Coach’s Corner - Those who can’t play…coach!
Athletes We Love - Gay? Straight? Whatever! We just love ‘em!
Equipment Shed - A look at the more fashionable side of sports.
With an effusion of double entendres and a fierce campy look at sport heroes we love, like Tonya Harding, LOCKER ROOM is funnier than anything you’ll see on THE COMEDY NETWORK. Whether DeBoy is interviewing a gay horse, sharing mock sports tips, or exposing athletes’ assets – one thing is clear – a superstar and super show has touched down on the airwaves. So what are you waiting for – come in, drop that bar of soap and get sweaty in our LOCKER ROOM -- ONLY ON PRIDEVISION.

A feature documentary from Aerlyn Weissman, Little Sister’s vs. Big Brother takes you on the heart of one of the biggest battles for freedom of speech in our time. PROM FIGHT: THE MARC HALL STORY
WORLD PREMIERE
OCTOBER 11 AT 9:00PM ET/PT– ‘COMING OUT’ DAY SPECIAL
60 MINUTES
Over the years, conventional wisdom on homosexuality has changed dramatically and a more liberal attitude of acceptance and tolerance has evolved. But no one seems to have told the Durham Catholic School Board.
I am writing to request that the school board reverse the policy taken to deny me the opportunity to attend my school prom with the person of my choice, my boyfriend. That’s all I want: to go to the prom with my date, like everybody else, and to make sure that no other student of the Durham Catholic School Board will never have to face what I have over the last few weeks Marc Hall, March 25, 2002.
What began as a simple request turned into a media frenzy pitting the Church against the Charter of Human Rights, a community against a school board, and a family against it’s faith. In the process Marc’s story made news across Canada, brought interview requests from as far away as Australia, and an appearance on an American TV series.
PROM FIGHT is a compelling story of a courageous gay youth that attracted enormous community support and debate. But though this is a story with a happy ending, we can also see a simple family dealing with pain of suicide, rejection and unconditional love.
This is Larry Peloso’s second independent Documentary. His first – COMING OUT OF THE IRON CLOSET, (1995) played at festivals worldwide and received awards at Toronto’s Inside Out Festival, and San Francisco’s International Gay and Lesbian Film Festival.

PRISONER – CELL BLOCK H
CANADIAN PREMIERE
SEPTEMBER 9 AT 11:00PM ET/PT - MONDAY THRU FRIDAY
130 EPS X 60 MIN.

Prisoner – Cell Block H is a powerful and unique drama series exploring the lives of women in prison. Faced with the harsh realities of life in a prison cell, a woman finds herself at odds with the prison authorities as well as with the other women prisoners. In a sterile world without warmth, some struggle for power while others search for love and companionship.
Prisoner – Cell Block H is based around the inmates and staff of the Wentworth Detention Centre but covers the wider concept that everyone is a ‘prisoner’ in some way of his or her environment…the prison wardress who never married because she is committed to caring for her invalid mother; the lesbian prisoner with no education and trapped by her illiteracy; the pregnant woman whose religious beliefs prevent her from having the abortion her husband demands. The series will cover circumstances which bring women to prison, how they adapt to prison life and their attempts to re-adjust to society when they are released.
Each of them if a ‘prisoner.’ Everyone is a ‘prisoner.’

THE SECRET LIFE OF US
CANADIAN PREMIERE
SEPTEMBER 18 AT 9:00PM ET/PT
25 EPS X 45 MIN.

The Secret Life of Us, an Australian series produced by John Edwards and Amanda Higgs, is a one hour series which follows the lives of eight people looking for the same thing – love, sex, romance, success – and anything else that’s worth going after. Evan, Kelly, Alex, Miranda, Richie, Will, Gabrielle and Jason get to face the big questions – like how much pizza to keep in the fridge for breakfast? Or the little questions – like am I gay or not?
It’s a show about life. As Evan Says: “You never know what’ll happen next…or who it will happen with. All you can do is hope it turns out OK…and that you remember most of it.”
TIPPING THE VELVET
NORTH AMERICAN PREMIERE
OCTOBER 18 AT 9:00PM ET/PT
3 EPS X 55 MIN.
Set in England in the 1890’s, Tipping the Velvet, an Andrew Davies adaptation for BBC TWO of the acclaimed novel by Sarah Waters, is a colourful, passionate and entertaining love story about Nan Astely (Rachel Stirling), a heroine as appealing and charismatic as Elizabeth Bennet in Pride and Prejudice. As she grows into womanhood, Nan realizes that she is attracted to women, not to men – and it leads her into a series of adventures that recall that earlier heroine Moll Flanders.
Says Andrew Davies: “Sarah Walters writes from a deep understanding, not only of the great Victorian writers but also the underground literature of the time – the pornographic fiction and the private memoirs of men and women who revealed the truth about what men and women thought and did in the later years of the 19th century. The effect of this is sometimes shocking, but always illuminating and life-enhancing.”

GIMME, GIMME, GIMME
MONDAYS AT 9:30PM ET/PT – NEW EPISODES PREMIERE SEPTEMBER 9
6 EPS X 30 MINUTES

The popular British sitcom, Gimme, Gimme, Gimme is returning to PrideVision TV with all new episodes for FALL 2002
Fans of the show will be treated to the hilarious goings on of the pratfall-laden misadventures of one over-the-top tart and one perennially lonely gay guy who happen to share both a flat in London and a yearning lust for whatever luckless man happens to cross their paths.
Kathy Burke (best actress, 1997 Cannes Film Festival, for her role in the harrowing Nil By Mouth) plays Linda La Hughes, sex-mad, overweight, loudmouthed and not particularly attractive. She, however, believes herself to be gorgeous and irresistible (“the auburn Jerry Hall”).
Our Linda shares a flat with Tom Farrell (played by James Dreyfus – Notting Hill, Bette), an aspiring actor who doesn't particularly like Linda and whose homosexuality is a constant source of irritation to her – not so much out of any strong homophobic feelings on Linda’s part, but more probably because she can’t stand the idea of any man not instantly succumbing to her moist and flagrant charms.
The scripts, by award-winning playwright, Jonathan Harvey (Beautiful Thing), crackle and cackle with the rapid-fire back and forth insult-fest that passes for conversation in the Linda-Tom household.
Liddy Oldroyd, best known for the 1994 TV series, Drop the Dead Donkey, directed the series.
SO GRAHAM NORTON
MONDAYS AT 9:00PM ET/PT – NEW EPISODES PREMIERE SEPTEMBER 9
29 EPS X 30 MINUTES

Back by popular demand is So Graham Norton, the most famous British TV personality many of us have never heard of. This is a PrideVision exclusive acquisition.
To start with, So Graham Norton is a late night, Channel 4 talk (“chat”, in England) show that features audience participation (“So Embarrassing”, “So Romantic” moments), “glamourous” guests (Joan Collins, Honor Blackman, Dolly Parton, Sophia Loren, etc., etc.), and live phone calls and visits to naughty Web sites.
It’s also both wildly popular and a critics’ darling. The series won Best Entertainment Show award at the BAFTAs (the British Emmys, where the competition included Who Wants to be a Millionaire and The Weakest Link). Graham Norton himself took home, for the second year in a row, the BAFTA for Best Entertainment Performance.
Last year, Graham Norton turned down a £5 million deal to move to the BBC and become the corporation's highest-paid entertainer.
And, in the latest news, Graham Norton is to be immortalized with a waxwork figure at Madame Tussaud's.
Famous enough for you? At the moment, in Britain, this guy owns the Isles. Even the Guardian newspaper ran a feature; behind-the-scenes interview with him entitled “Not so Graham Norton.” Being a high-toned journal-of-record for British intelligentsia, they couldn’t resist describing So Graham Norton thusly:
Norton's show goes out on Friday night at 10:30 in the C4 tits 'n' trash zone. As many women watch it as men, which is amazing.
To find out what’s really so “amazing”, you’ll just have to have a look.
