History Television proudly presents the incredible story of Easy Company with the ten-part award-winning miniseries Band of Brothers, airing Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET/10 p.m. PT, beginning November 3. Before the first episode, History Television will present the Canadian premiere of the series’ official supporting documentary, We Stand Alone Together, on Thursday, November 3 at 8 p.m. ET/9 p.m. PT.
Band of Brothers, based on Stephen E. Ambrose’s best-selling book, is a Second World War saga following an elite unit of combat paratroopers from grueling basic training to parachuting in to Utah Beach on D-Day, from holding the line in the Battle of the Bulge to celebrating at Hitler's mountaintop retreat at Berchtesgaden.
Executive produced by Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg, the parts are directed and written by many of today’s top filmmakers, with Stephen Ambrose serving as co-executive producer.
Over a period of two years, director Mark Cowen and his crew traveled to 30 U.S. and 10 European cities as well as to annual reunions to interview Easy Company for the documentary We Stand Alone Together. The veterans’ emotional testimonials on key moments in the Company’s history construct a vivid history of the Second World War. Through it all, each veteran recalls that his reliance on his brothers-in-arms is the reason any of them made it back alive.
“We Stand Alone Together is the perfect companion for Band of Brothers” says Michael Kot, Director, Original Production, History Television. “This story of awesome courage and loyalty is only strengthened by hearing it from the perspective of this heroic company of men.”
