Bell ExpressVu Removes Movie Central HD

Subscribers to premium movie channel Movie Central in Western Canada with HiDefinition TV sets have been angered over the removal of the MC-HD channel. ExpressVu was delivering a version of the channel with a limited selection of programming but have since removed the channel completely from their lineup without explanation to subscribers.
Enquiries with the customer and technical service department at ExpressVu have been met with nothing but frustration for subscribers.
The trouble began for ExpressVu subscribers when HBO's new series Rome was due to premiere. MC-HD subscribers noticed that it wasn't scheduled for the channel and deluged ExpressVu's support lines requesting it, it was added for the premiere airing.
Subsequent episodes however have not aired on MC-HD and subscribers once again have taken to the phones and email to voice their displeasure. Last week the part time MC-HD simply disappeared from the guide for all subscribers and has not been seen since.
Calls and emails to the support departments at ExpressVu have been met with ignorance, sometimes they have attempted to reset the subscribers programming while most often they have attempted to place the blame on Movie Central for not delivering HD programming to them.
However, Movie Central's HD channel is available via regular satellite downlink from Cancom's AnikF2, this is the same signal that delivers it to Starchoice subscribers and to cable headends in Western Canada.
Calls to Corus Entertainment and Movie Central indicate that they are delivering a signal to Bell ExpressVu and they are at a loss as to why ExpressVu continues to not offer the full channel to subscribers.
Subscribers to Movie Central on ExpressVu in Western Canada wishing to have the full Movie Central HD channel are encouraged to contact the CRTC who are ultimately responsible for allowing the territory protected duopoly in the premium tier.
Due to Canada's premiums being territory protected monopolies ExpressVu subscribers in Eastern Canada currently enjoy full time HD content from The Movie Network.
Note: Update: MC-HD returned to channel 841 on ExpressVu and is now the full 24 hour version advertised on Movie Central's website.
